Adding Students
- Students are automatically uploaded to Business, CYFS, Kinesiology, Recreation & Tourism, and University Studies courses at the start of each academic semester.
- Students in other programs can be uploaded providing the COTROnline Help Desk receives the correct information. If you want your students uploaded, please download and fill in the attached spreadsheet, then email it to cotronline@cotr.bc.ca
- Students can be added manually to courses once they have updated their passwords and logged into www.cotronline.ca.
- You can add Non-Editing Instructors and Tutors using this same process but changing the Assign Role as appropriate.
To add students manually ...
- Go to Course Administration > Users > Enrolled Users
.
2. Click 'Enrol Users'.
3. Then search by student's name (personal or family) or email address.
4. Select the student(s) - if the student doesn't show up when you search, they may already have been added to the course or they may not have logged into www.cotronline.ca.
5. Click the Enrol Users button once you have selected everyone to be added to the course.

ILP IMPORTANT INFORMATION
DO NOT SUSPEND/REMOVE STUDENTS IF your course(s) is linked to the ILP. the ILP will remove the students automatically as the students drop/change sections.
Removing Students
Because of Registration's student record retention requirements, faculty are not able to remove students. If you have a student who has withdrawn, that student can be suspended to block their access to the course, then an email should be sent to cotronline@cotr.bc.ca asking that the withdrawn student be removed.
If you have a student who withdraws late in the semester after submitting to assignments, you may want to leave them suspended, so their submissions are backed up when the course is backed up. If this happens, then you will have access to the submission in the future if needed.
