Quizzes
We recommend adding the following to your exam directions:
Prior to your final exam:
- Check to see if your computer, smartphone,
tablet, etc. and internet connection that will allow you to complete an exam
(go here to check https://mdl-cotr-dev.tru.ca/mod/quiz/view.php?id=616498
– self enrollment key is: welcome).
- If you encounter problems when you attempt to
complete the sample exam, please contact the COTROnline Help Desk as soon as
possible.
- Find a quiet corner that can be used when you
write the exam.
At the time of the exam:
- Log into www.cotronline.ca
at least 5 minutes prior to your exam starting to ensure that there are no last
minute connection difficulties.
- Use either FireFox or Google Chrome if possible;
Internet Edge and Internet Explorer may cause problems with the exam.
- Once you start your exam, DO NOT attempt to open
www.cotronline.ca in another internet
browser. If you do, you will be dropped
out of your exam and will not be able to complete it.
- If your exam is open for an extended period
(example: from 8 am until 10 pm) and is two hours long, make sure you start
early enough that you can finish before the exam closes (example: if you are allowed two hours to complete the
exam and it closes at 10 pm, you need to start by 7:50 pm to have the full two
hours).
- If the exam is open book, right-click on the exam link and open the exam in a new tab. This will allow you to access the rest of your course and other internet websites during the exam. Do not attempt to open the www.cotronline.ca website in another browser; if you do, you will be dropped out of your exam.
During the exam – your connect to the exam is lost
- If your internet connection is interrupted and
you get dropped from your exam, go back into the exam as soon as you are
able. If you go back in directly, you
will be able to continue from where you left off.
- If your internet outage is extended or you are
not able to return to your exam, please either send an email to your instructor
and COTROnline@cotr.bc.ca or call
250-489-2751 local 3737 immediately and leave a message with your name, course,
phone number and the information that you have been dropped from your exam;
someone will get back to you as soon as possible.
- If you get dropped out of the exam, your questions will be saved up to the page/question you were working on at the time you were dropped.
At the end of the exam
- Mark sure you have answered all the questions;
even a partial answer or a guess has the potential to be an extra mark.
- Make sure you submit your exam when you are finished.
