The Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Template is designed to provide both structure and guidance on delivering successful universal design principles in your course, both in-person and via COTROnline.

Brief Overview of the UDL Template

We have created an introductory lesson via Articulate Rise to introduce the UDL Template and its various components: Brief Overview of the COTROnline UDL Template

  • Highlights UDL principles guiding the template design
  • Reviews core COTROnline/Moodle elements included in the template
  • Information on how to request a copy of the UDL Template for yourself

Once you have requested a Template, you will also gain access to our detailed Articulate Rise course on how to best apply the template and set up your course.

The UDL Template highlights a few key elements in particular, including:

  • Using video to supplement content throughout the course shell
  • Developing accessible course documents such as syllabi, assignment descriptions, rubrics, and more.
  • Segmenting information into thematic, easily located containers (drop-downs)
  • Following digital accessibility guidelines with support from the Accessibility Checker block
