The Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Template
The Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Template is designed to provide both structure and guidance on delivering successful universal design principles in your course, both in-person and via COTROnline.
We have created an introductory lesson via Articulate Rise to introduce the UDL Template and its various components: Brief Overview of the COTROnline UDL Template
- Highlights UDL principles guiding the template design
- Reviews core COTROnline/Moodle elements included in the template
- Information on how to request a copy of the UDL Template for yourself
Once you have requested a Template, you will also gain access to our detailed Articulate Rise course on how to best apply the template and set up your course.
The UDL Template highlights a few key elements in particular, including:
- Using video to supplement content throughout the course shell
- Developing accessible course documents such as syllabi, assignment descriptions, rubrics, and more.
- Segmenting information into thematic, easily located containers (drop-downs)
- Following digital accessibility guidelines with support from the Accessibility Checker block
