Your announcement block should automatically appear at the top of the menu to the left of your course-homepage. (If you are on a mobile device or narrow window, it will move down to below the course homepage).

However, if at any point the block is moved or removed, you can conduct the following steps to re-set its location.

Step 1: Turn editing on

Make sure you are viewing in a wide browser screen. Once in  your course, turn editing on.

Step 2: Check for Announcement Block in other locations

Scroll down the page and look to see if it was moved below other blocks but is still in the left column (area SLIDE-PRE).

If you locate it, use the drag and drop arrows to move the block up to the top of the block list.

Step 3: Add a Block

If you cannot locate the Latest Announcements block, you will need to re-add it to the page.

Scroll until you find the "Add a block" block, located on your left hand side of the course.

Step 4:

Click on the drop down menu until you find the "Latest Announcement block". Then click on it to add the block.

Step 5: Move in place

Once the block is added it will appear directly above the "Add a block" block. You will need to move it to the top of the blocks list. (See step 2 above).

Note: Configure block options

If you select the 'gear' icon to configure the block settings, you can move the block by selecting the region of placement ("Slide-Pre") and the weight of the block.

Block weights are defined by the lowest number being at the top. To ensure your block is always on top, set the weight to a low negative number (ie. -10).
