Setting up an Assignment Acitivity.

To set up the Assignment activity in your course,

  • First, turn on the editing mode. From the activity chooser, select 'Assignment.'

  •  Provide a name and a description detailing what students are required to submit. You can enhance clarity by uploading additional help or example documents in the designated area.

  • Further customize the assignment by expanding other settings. This includes specifying availability times, choosing submission methods, and determining feedback mechanisms (utilizing features like inline comments for direct annotation on submitted work).
  • For added control over submissions, consider exploring Submission settings. This allows you to implement measures such as requiring students to verify the authenticity of their work or preventing changes to submissions once uploaded. If group submissions are desired (assuming your course includes groups), delve into Group Submission settings.

  • To employ a rubric for evaluation instead of a single-grade scale, adjust the Grading method to 'Rubric.' After saving the assignment, access or create the rubric through the Advanced grading link in the Assignment administration block on the side. This comprehensive setup process ensures a tailored and effective Assignment activity within your Moodle course.
